The Cincinnati Spanish Academy's goals are:

• For children to enjoy the learning of Spanish;

• For children to develop the ability to hear and recognize Spanish and to use basic vocabulary;

• For children, in the long term, to obtain the ability to conduct small conversational interactions with a native speaker; and

• For parents to witness the overall benefits of Spanish in their child's life.

How to Support Your Child Learning Spanish:

• Encourage your child's interest in Spanish.

• Attend cultural events that expose your child to music, dance or food from the Spanish speaking countries.

• Attend Spanish story times featured at local libraries or bookstores.

• Many children's movies in DVD have Spanish audio. Play it in Spanish.

• Read books in Spanish to your children. Don't worry about pronunciation; they will appreciate your embracing the language.
